Vintage Colorful Vilac Co. Wood Man on Tricycle Toy made in France 8" front to back, 7" wide, 9 13/16" high Was $ 99.95 ..... Is Now $ 49.95 ! ! ! ! ! Rare ! ! ! ! ! I have checked Worthpoint and found nothing. I have used the general search engines such as Google and Bing and only found reference to the two presently on eBay. I have found reference to only two on eBay and they are worlds away from each other in price. C ondition: This toy is showing its age in that the outer parts of the hands show the enamel paint being worn off and the upper body of the man has chipped away enamel showing the bare wood underneath. There are spots on the large front wheel and the woven legs are very worn and also appear to be faded. There are red paint spots on the lower part of the man's face. The front edge of the hat is dinged up and there is a scrape at the top....see pic 9. There may always be small manufacturer's defects or microscopic blemishes or flaws consistent with age and use which is to be expected in antique and vintage items. Rest assured that any major issues will always be both documented and photographed to the best of my ability. Be sure and check the photos as they are an integral part of the description and do a much better job of showing condition issues than what I can explain through the use of the written word. Use the magnification tool and feel free to ask questions. I may have more photos available and can always take more so ask for specific views if you want to see things I may not be showing to your satisfaction. Note: The Vilac Company of France has been making wooden toys for about 100 years. It still is one of the most celebrated makers of wooden toys in France and Europe today. It was founded in 1911 in Grenoble in the Southeast part of France. It is now located in the Jura Mountains and uses locally sourced wood, mainly beechwood to craft its toys . I am not familiar with their products so can not accurately date this tricycle. If any of you know more about these toys and can help with that, please let us know. Thanks. Shipping window changes: I am an old lady who lives quite a way out in the country. I also have chronic pain syndrome. I choose a longer shipping window so that I can choose the best weather days, and best health days to make the trip into town where I run as many errands as I can including mailing your packages.
